After much struggle pool in it’s frame and installed on insulation sheets to reduce heat loss


Additional insulation fitted - 150mm Kingspan.


Frame erected  around pool before sheeted with tongue and groove pine boards.


Finished product, not very well shown is an electric winch in the roof which lifts the insulated pool lid  - another heat saving measure.


Frame built around the pool to try and reduce draughts for the swimmer.


Technical bit, filter and 3KW electric heater.

Mags indentified a suitable site for the pool - my hard standing for tractor repairs !

So basically an outdoor pool was bought and as it was intended for all year round use it was installed inside one of the barns and to make it suitable for all year use a 3KW heater was fitted along with insulation around the outside of the pool and also an insulated lid in order to reduce heat loss as much as possible. Even so during cold weather the heater had to be on 3 or more hours to try and maintain the temperature at about 26C - the min temp acceptable to Mags.
Post covid Mags would have like to keep the pool but the massive hike in electricity prices meant that it wasn’t  really economic to keep using.
